Mountain Ski Training

Couple-a-things I forgot to mention in the weekly update… This concerns 1-2’s for Denton. A few things I remembered from the last trip out there……



#1 It may be smart to bring extra breakfast food. If I recall, there was a duncan donuts near the hotel and it gets packed in the morning with all the ski racers in town. Get there early or forget it. I think there was a fast food place in town, i don’t remember though.



#2 It’s a 45 minute drive to Denton in good weather. It’s all 2 lane road with some small towns along the way. Quaint little drive, I imagine it’s peachy on a nice sunny Autumn afternoon. But it’s a bugger with logging trucks and cops who WILL nail you for a few mph over the speed limit… right Mrs. Pocius? 



#3 Watch the weather before you go. I’m late for work so I would have done it for you. It’s a different climate out there and they were forecasting a bit of snow last time i looked.



#4 Denton does not have a large lodge or fancy apres ski sillyness. Come prepared to deal with hard to find seating and amenities. Tailgating is encouraged, the finish line is only a stones throw from the parking lot. Also bring sharp sharp skis. You’ve all seen the pictures, right?



#5 Oh, and the hotel is supposed to have a pool, don’t forget the suit!
